Mac Mail Email Setup

1. To open mac mail, click the stamp icon in your dock. If it isn’t there, then click Macintosh HD to the top of the desktop, then go down and click Applications. This will open the welcome screen shown below. Enter the requested information and click Continue.

If for some reason the welcome screen does not appear this probably means that you already have an existing mail account and you’ll have to add another one. To do this click on File and then select Add Account. This will launch the window shown below.

2. Continue entering the requested information as shown below. Choose ‘POP’ as ‘Account Type’; and in the ‘Incoming Mail Server’ box, type ‘pop3.tranquility.net’. If you use the spam filter, the ‘Incoming Mail Server’ will need to be: “newsmtp.tranquility.net”. Below this enter your username (without the “@tranquility.net” suffix), and your password in the appropriate fields.

Please note that when you select ‘Continue’, this message may appear. This is normal, please click ‘Connect’ and follow the instructions below.

5. Now for your outgoing server, the description is just a name, so fell free to put whatever you like. In this example outgoing mail server is used. Now for outgoing mail server for all users is “smtp.tranquility.net“. Check “Use only this server”. Finally don’t click use authentication, or fill in the blanks. Now click continue.

6. On the last page, don’t click use secure sockets layer. Also make sure you have none in the authentication box. Now click continue, and your account should work with Mac Mail now. If you are having any problems, feel free to contact us!

7. When this screen is shown, click “Create” and Mac Mail will begin downloading your messages. Congratulations! You’re ready to enjoy Tranquility Email on your Mac!
