New Features For Gmail Inbox

Gmail Spices Things Up With New Update

Google’s latest update takes customizing your Gmail experience to a whole new level. The new Gmail automatically filters emails into specific category tabs as they arrive. The idea is to make it easier for users to read messages of the same type all at once and avoid annoying inbox clutter. You can now separate your casual reads from more pressing emails by allowing five new tabs:New-Gmail-inbox-web-002

Your Inbox Your Way

Five tabs are available at your disposal and Gmail allows you to use them as you please:

  • Use some or all tabs activating the ones you want
  • Emails can be moved between tabs with a simple drag and drop
  • All starred emails are placed in the Primary tab to ensure they remain up front and center
  • Create your own filters for your inbox, such as choosing to have a particular sender always placed in a certain tab

The app also contains a slide out feature that displays the tabs, with Primary being the first to show.

The new inbox has been updated to the Gmail app for smartphones, so you can use the new features wherever you go. Once the updates appear on your web account they should automatically show up on your Gmail app.

An option is available for the smartphone app that lets you decide which category tabs will send you notifications. When you are busy and on the move, this new Gmail update provides another way to swiftly organize your pressing issues from junk emails.
