If you’re looking for a way to escape from your email during the holidays, we may have found the perfect solution. INBOX PAUSE calls itself, “the paradigm-shiftingest, game-changingest email innovation of 2012!” While we wouldn’t go that far with our excitement, we do think it’s a handy little tool to minimize distractions in your life.
This Gmail add-on places a pause button in your Tnet Mail or Gmail. When you click the pause button, new emails will stop arriving in your inbox. Instead, they will be sent to and held under a special label until you click on the blue unpause button in your Gmail.
INBOX PAUSE gives you the option to automatically reply to ignored email senders to tell them that their message didn’t arrive in your inbox. After you click the pause button, a window will pop up prompting you to type the automatic reply. Just type your message and click pause, or uncheck Turn on Auto-Responder if you don’t want to send the automatic reply.
To download INBOX PAUSE for your Tnet Mail or Gmail, go to www.InboxPause.com and click on the blue download button. Log out of and back into your inbox, and the pause button should appear on the page.
Now, you can enjoy your holiday season without constantly feeling tempted to check your email or hearing notifications on your phone. You can even use INBOX PAUSE when you get back to work as a way to focus on the task at hand instead of your inbox.
INBOX PAUSE was created by the same developers that made Boomerang for Gmail, another add-on that allows you to schedule, track and set reminders for emails you are sending. For more information on Boomerang for Gmail, read our blog post about the similarities and differences between it and Right Inbox.
