How to Use Google+ Hangouts to Keep in Touch During the Holidays.

The holidays are just around the corner and at times it’s hard to get all those family members together in one location. Well Google has the solution for you. Google+ is Google’s new social networking tool.

Google+ allows you to video chat, IM chat,  watch YouTube videos together and more. Up to 10 of your friends and family members can be in a hangout at a time. This proves helpful if you have multiple family members or friends across the country. Your friends and family members can be placed in customizable circles and you can choose to “Hang Out” with them.

The great thing about Google+ Hangouts is you don’t even have to install any programs to get it to run, unlike its counter-part application, Skype. It’s just click-and-go! Simple as that!

Starting a hangout is quite easy and really straightforward. While you are on your Google+ page, on the right sidebar, if you scroll down you will see the “Start a hangout” selection.

From here you will see a window where you can add people to the Hangout, you can even select a unique name for your hangout. Just make sure everyone’s hair is in place!

Once you selected the people you want to chat with, click “Hang out” and you are all set.

You have many features to start off with that you may want to experiment with. You can share your screen, send files, and play games. But the best feature is the ability to be able to keep in touch with your loved ones during the holidays.

Happy holidays from Tranquility Internet and we encourage everyone to check out our Google+ Page.
