RIP Windows XP Service Pack 2

If you haven’t upgraded to Service Pack 3 your computer is at risk.

Microsoft announced starting July 13, 2010 it will no longer support or send out security updates for Windows XP Service Pack 2.

Do you need to upgrade?

To double check and make sure that you’re running service

pack 3 please do the following.

  1. Click Start, then right click on My Computer and select properties.
  2. By default you should be on the General Tab but if not please click it.
  3. Under the section “System” it will say what service pack is currently installed on your computer (See picture below).

Steps to upgrade:

  1. Start -> All Programs -> Windows Update
  2. Let Microsoft check your computer and then just follow their instructions.

Be safe and stay up to date. That’s all for this time.
